Robbe's obituary from her home town newspaper, The Lawton Constitution Robbe Ann Hester passed away peacefully Sunday, March 4, 2018, in Gloucestershire, England, after a valiant battle with cancer. Robbe was born Nov. 28, 1953, in Lawton, to longtime Lawton residents John C. and Wilhelmina Lewis Hester. She attended Whittier Elementary, Central Junior High and graduated from Lawton High School in 1971 before receiving a degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. In 1984, Robbe moved to England, living in Stroud then the village of Amberley in Gloucestershire. She loved the beauty and architecture of the Cotswolds and pursued her interest in property development. Robbe worked for Stroud's Member of Parliament Roger Knapman, often being interviewed to give an American's perspective on the politics of the day. She also taught business classes at Stroud College before retiring in Amberley. Along with her parents, Jake and Wilhelmina Hester, Robbe leaves to cherish her memory three sons in England: Joseph Billau and Cherry of Stroud, Justin Billau and Luna of Bristol, and Benjamin Billau of Amberley; and granddaughters: Remy Wilhelmina, and Lily and Sunita Billau of Stroud. She also leaves her sisters: Lynn Runyon of Dallas, Brenda Towe of Lawton, and Jan Richardson and husband Rick of Norman; brother, John G. Robbe was a rare and profound life force in the lives of so many of us when we were young. She was that first “old soul” on our life’s path, our femmes fatale, our belle dam sans merci, our mystery lady, or simply our dear friend and confidant--or any combination of the above! She has returned to the depths from which she came, where I know she has found her peace, and the glimpses she offered of those depths are forever with us. John Adair
